Automotive Controller

Import dealer looking for a quality controller to help with multiple dealership functions and other business interest of the owner.

Job Responsibilities to Include:

• Oversee the accounting department for the dealership as well as several real estate holdings and personal holdings of the dealer.
• Supervise and train accounting staff as needed.
• Ensure maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.
• Ensure timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial and management reporting for owners.
• Make sure that all reports are made to all the appropriate departments in a timely manner.
• Meet with Department managers regularly to address ways to improve business and cover goals as well as performance
• Create and maintain budgets and reporting for accountability to budgets for each department and store.
• Coordinates audits and makes sure the proper filing of tax returns is handled in a timely manner.
• Ensure all legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions is kept.
• Oversee HR compliance
• Oversee and ensure other compliance with Federal, State and Local laws
• Assist with strategic and operational planning for all stores.

Job Requirements:

• DealerTrack/Arkona DMS Experience is preferred.
• Quickbooks experience helpful (real estate holdings) - MUST HAVE ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE OUTSIDE OF QUICKBOOKS ACCOUNTING
• Bachelors Degree - Accounting Major or extensive prior experience in similar role preferred;
• Must have working knowledge of information technology .
• Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Must have demonstrated leadership ability and team management in prior roles
• Must have interpersonal skills, possess excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, and be very organized.
