General Sales Manager - Automotive

Franchise auto dealership is looking for a leader, coach and full team player in variable operations. This individual will be overseeing the sales and finance operations. This position has the potential to take over as GM based on performance. This is an active GSM position, you will NOT be sitting behind a desk, but actively engaged on the floor with customers and team members.

Position is in the southern region of the Appleton market. Will consider candidates from Sheboygan area too.

Job Duties may include:

  • Running the day to day operations of variable operations- sales and finance.
  • Must be able to desk and submit deals.
  • Setting goals for each member of your team and helping them achieve them.
  • Working with sales team members to ensure proper handling of all dealership customers
  • Training the sales team on dealership processes.
  • Working with customers to answer questions about the sales process and overcome objections.
  • Maintain amazing customer service
  • Working with finance team to ensure dealership goals are met.
  • Working to make sure all opportunities are explored with every customer.
  • Working effectively with the service department to ensure both internal and external customers are handled properly.
  • Ensuring factory mandates are met
  • Ability to accurate order correct levels of new vehicle inventory and monitor used car inventory levels.
  • Ensuring all team members are current on any and all franchise training/certification required.
  • Ability to review data and make business decisions based on facts.

Skills Need to Succeed:

  • Stable employment history
  • Proven track record in sales
  • Positive attitude to work with customers with damaged credit
  • Prior Finance experience is required.
  • Outstanding closing skills
  • Motivated to achieve individual goals as well as lead team to achieve goals
  • Ability to coach and train sales personnel to maximize every lead opportunity.
  • 3 years of GSM experience minimum preferred.
